Erhan Erkut, Ph.D.
Head of Business Administration
Erhan Erkut received a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bogazici University in 1980 and a PhD from the University of Florida in 1986. Dr. Erkut taught at the University of Alberta School of Business during 1985-2005. During this period he received nine teaching awards, including the INFORMS Teaching of Management Science Practice Award and the 3M Teaching Fellowship, and five practice and service awards from the Canadian Operational Research Society. Dr. Erkut established a Centre for Excellence in Operations to facilitate know-how transfer, and served as the founding editor of the journal INFORMS Transactions in Education.
After returning to Turkey in 2005, he served as Dean of the Business School at Bilkent University (2005-07), the Founding Rector of Ozyegin University (2008-13), and as Vice-Rector of MEF University (2014-). Currently he serves on the boards of three local education associations and works actively to promote skills development for youth and entrepreneurship.

Semen Son Turan, Ph.D. (Assoc. Prof. Dr.)
She received her BA degree from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey, (1998). She completed her MBA at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), USA (2000) and holds a PhD degree from Yaşar University, Izmir, Turkey (2014). After her graduate education Dr. Son Turan took various corporate and managerial positions at companies such as Ford Otosan, Rehau, İş Asset Management, Ashmore Asset Management and ultimately established her own consulting company.
Dr. Son Turan has been teaching finance and accounting courses at US, German and Turkish institutions for almost twenty years. Dr. Son Turan holds the Capital Market Activities Advanced Level License. Her work has been published in various international journals and books.
She earned the title of “Associate Professor of Finance” in 2017 from YÖK (Council of Higher Education of Turkey). She joined MEF University as a faculty member in 2014 and is still working as an assistant professor in the business administration department.
Her research interests include behavioral finance, higher education finance and sustainable finance.

After graduating from Marmara University Business Administration undergraduate program (in English) with honors, Dr. Hande Karadag commenced her career as a corporate banking portfolio manager in Yapi Kredi (the affiliate of UniCredit Group), the third largest bank in Turkey with 15.000 employees. In the first 11 years of her banking career, she worked as the responsible officer for the financial and international trade activities of domestic and multi- national corporations including IKEA, Colgate Palmolive, Hedef Alliance, Alarko Holding and Eczacıbaşı Holding. In the last seven years of her banking career, she was appointed as the branch manager within the same financial institution.
While she was continuing her banking career, Dr. Karadag received her masters degree on international trade, which provided her with additional theoretical and practical insights on the details of international trade such as customs operations and legal procedures of import/export transactions. After finishing the program with a top degree (3.90/4), she completed her PhD program on strategic management, where she investigated the impact of strategic financial management practices on the performance and competitiveness of small and medium sized businesses in Turkey. At the same time, she started teaching an international banking and finance course for undergraduate and MBA classes in Yeditepe University as well as running “finance for non-financiers” training programs. During her PhD program, she was invited to Isenberg School of Business to study strategic management with Associate Professor Anurag Sharma in 2013. After finishing her PhD, she was invited by the University of Pennslyvania Wharton School Entrepreneurial Research Center to join the team of international visiting scholars mentored by one of the best professors in the entrepreneurship field, Professor Ian MacMillan. Returning back to Turkey in 2015, Dr. Karadag started working at MEF University in İstanbul, as the chair of the Banking and Insurance School and director of the Lifelong Learning Center.
In 2015, Dr. Karadag was appointed as the country vice-president of ECSB, the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Karadag served as board member of several business associations including JCI, Junior Chamber International, Propeller Club and GYİAD, Young Businessmen Association. Dr. Karadag’s book “Strategic Financial Management in Small and Medium Sized Companies” was published by Emerald Publishing Group in 2015. She also has articles published in national and international journals about SMEs, entrepreneurship and financial and growth strategies of start-ups.

Petek Tosun, Ph.D.
Petek Tosun has graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School in 1996. She received her undergraduate degree from Bilkent University Economics department in 2000. She has worked in various positions including product and product development manager, segment manager and vice president of marketing in Yapi Kredi Bank, Turkcell, Gedik Investment and Odeabank headquarters in the period between 2000-2016. After completing her MBA in Istanbul Bilgi University in 2013, she has started her Ph.D. in Marketing. She has received her Ph.D. in Marketing from Istanbul Bilgi University in 2018.
In the period between 2015 and 2018, she has worked as a visiting instructor of marketing in graduate and undergraduate levels. Petek Tosun has joined MEF University Business Administration Faculty as an assistant professor in February 2019.
Her research fields include consumer behavior, financial services marketing, brand management, sustainability and consumption, consumer complaining behavior and service quality.

Büşra Ayan received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Istanbul University in 2015. During her undergraduate program, she continued her education at Hogeschool van Amsterdam (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) for a semester within Erasmus student exchange program. She completed the MSc program in Quantitative Methods at Istanbul University in 2018. She joined MEF University Business Administration Department in 2017.

Part-Time Academic Staff
An Industrial & Systems Engineer, from Boğaziçi University (B.Sc) and University of Florida (M.Sc.), and a management consultant by profession. Started consulting career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1989 and continued with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and ARGE Consulting in Istanbul. Current professional works include independent board membership in three listed and two private companies, consulting several medium size family businesses in competitive strategies and organizational health, and teaching Business Consulting course at MEF University. His management consulting clients were mostly multi-business Turkish enterprises, seeking to enhance management effectiveness. Consulting works entailed corporate and competitive strategy formulation and execution, organizational development, a big challenge in multi-business corporations, and implementation of various effectiveness programs, such as total quality and lean management.
After graduating from Computer Engineering of Istanbul University in 2007 with honors, Dr. Burak Kuzucu started his business career in department of software development and product management in Netas and continued his academic career with Engineering Management master program in Istanbul Technical University. By 2010, he decided to move his career journey into the next stage of business-oriented transformation; he was promoted to Sales Executive role in Netas and he joined the Ph.D. program of Management and Organization in Istanbul University, he obtained his degree on 2016.
After very successful period of three years with sales management and business development in Netas, he started to work for Oracle Turkey by 2014. His last four years had passed in Oracle with sales and business development roles, responsible of wide variety of client industry and extensive product portfolio along to industry trends. Recently, in addition to his main responsibilities, he contributes the development of startup ecosystem by collaborating with many hubs and by providing mentorship to startups. On top of all, he extremely believes in transformational potential of emerging technologies like Blockchain and AI, and power of the ecosystem in new economy; therefore he contributes the collective activities in these areas.

After his graduation from Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University, Metin Yilmaz started his career at Isbank Board of Inspectors and served the Turkish financial sector for approximately 30 years. In addition to Isbank he took managerial positions at İş Yatırım Menkul Değerler and İş Girişim Sermayesi during this period. His work concentrated on capital markets, private equity, equity investments and bank equity portfolio management. During this period, he had worked on various domestic and international IPOs, privatization advisory, financial management of companies, mergers and acquisitions and equity stake sales. He served as a board member of companies in financial, industrial and service sectors including Avea, Şişe Cam, İş Portföy, Gemport, İDÇ and Softtech. At present he is a board member of Atlanta USA based start up company Koridor Inc.

Burcu Özsevinç graduated from Marmara University Law Faculty. Following 12 years legal practice at top law firms of Turkey, she became the legal and compliance director of a holding company operating in Turkey, EMEA and CIS. Burcu Özsevinç who graduated ranked first in its class from Business Law LL.M. Program at Istanbul Bilgi University has particularly broad experience in corporate law, commercial law, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, labor law, entrepreneurship and funding phases and angel investments; and currently acts as the Legal Head of MetLife Turkey.
Lecturing since 2012 at undergraduate and graduate programs of various universities relating to business law and entrepreneurial Law, Burcu Özsevinç participates in numerous organizations and events as lecturer and instructor. Burcu Özsevinç provides legal support and guidance to companies and high level directors, and also lectures on time management and effective presentation techniques.
Murat Doğu, Ph.D.
He was born in Ankara in 1967 and completed his secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College. In 1990 he was graduated from the Department of Economics of Boğaziçi University, İstanbul. In 1991, he started his career as an Assistant Expert at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey(“CMB”). He became an Expert in February 1995 and promoted as a Senior Expert in 2003. Starting from 2002 he became the director of the CMB Corporate Governance Task Force which then completed and published the first Corporate Governance Principles of Turkey in 2003. In May 2004 he resigned from CMB and started working in private sector as Capital Markets Corporate Governance Coordinator. Since August 2010, he is acting as Vice President responsible from Capital Markets Operations, Financial Reporting and Budgeting at Doğan Şirketler Grubu Holding, one of the conglomerates in Turkey. He is also serving as a board member at some of the Doğan Holding Company’s Boards as well. He has experience in public company boards, which are supervised by CMB or BRSA.
Mr. Doğu, including Borsa İstanbul, the Central Registry Office and Settlement and Custody Bank operations and regulation, is an expert in general on capital markets regulation, corporate finance and corporate governance and is mainly specialized in the areas of valuation, due diligence, the issuance and public offer of capital market instruments, mergers&acquisitions, spin-offs, tender offers, financial analysis, financial reporting and accounting. He played an active role in the mergers, acquisition and sale of major companies and/or assets within the Dogan Group.
Mr. Doğu received his MBA Degree from Warwick Business School, UK in 1997 and also had a master degree in business administration from Hacettepe University, Ankara. In 2008, he graduated from the PhD program on business administration in the Hacettepe University. Tuna Canatar graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and then completed Business Marketing Program at Scotland North East Scotland College. He has his MBA degree from İstanbul Bilgi University and also joined Franklin Covey' s Leadership Training in London. In his corporate career, he led marketing roles for various multinational and domestic companies, including OMD Media Planning Agency, Pernod Ricard, Anadolu Efes and KFC Restaurants. He is currently working for LEGO Group as Regional Marketing Director and responsible for Israel, Turkey and Greece Markets. In addition to his professional career, he is supporting Yenibirlider Organisation and İTÜ Çekirdek as Mentor. Moreover, he is giving keynotes and trainings about marketing and leadership.
After graduating from T.E.D Ankara College in 1994; Asu completed Middle East Technical University Environmental Engineering Department. She commenced her career as sales and planning engineer for one of the biggest water and wastewater treatment companies, Aquamatch Türkiye. When pursuing her engineering career, she had her Engineering Management Master’s Degree from Middle East Technical University in 2002. In the same year, she started working for Yapı ve Kredi Bankası where she had the opportunity to be a part of the MT programme of the Bank. During the years she worked for the bank, she completed MBA programme in Bilgi University. In 2005, she started working for Procter & Gamble where she acted in various positions in three years. In 2008, she had the opportunity to move to Coca-Cola İçecek which serves for 10 countries and one of the biggest bottlers in the Coca-Cola system. There she worked for Budget & Consolidation Department where she was responsible for the consolidation of the budgeted financials of all countries and their analysis including management reporting. In 2012, she was transferred to Akzo Nobel as the Supply Chain Controller and had the opportunity to review production and other costs within a plant. She also worked as the Financial Projects Manager where she focused on P2P, OTC and R2R processes and their control. In 2016 she decided to move to consultancy and she worked for a consultancy company which provided her to see different companies with different problems. During her consultancy experience, she worked on business modeling, performance management and target setting. In 2017, she started working for Koton Mağazacılık where she is still the Cost Analysis and Control Manager.
Meltem Kayhan received her undergrad degree from İ.T.U in industrial engineering and started her Ph.d at Clemson after completing her masters in industrial management. She has a Ph.d in Industrial Engineering , in demand forecasting for fmcg products. She also worked as a lecturer at Clemson between 1991-1993. During this period she joined international university-industry collaborated strategic business and system simulation projects which inspired her to seek a related career after returning to Turkey. She established R & D-Strategic Planning and Business Development departments at Migros and directed the department group with different business units additions for 14 years. Led and sponsored more than 30 pioneering projects-start-ups in her organization and holding company. She has conducted joint projects with European Union, public and university in a wide range of process architecture, digital transformation, business intelligence, new business- new product, CRM area. After 15 years of intense experience in brand and employee loyalty programs, operation and performance development, she has stepped up to establish her own consulting company. Since 2011, her team has been working on corporate structuring, organization and system modelling for different sectors and brands, developing new business, brand and channel and providing a wide range of solution consulting services to companies for agile efficient and sustainable business models and management processes.
During her career, she has lectured different courses at different programs in Turkey and abroad. She has returned to her academic studies in 2012 and joined Beykent University. Her academic curiosity and interests are demand dynamics, consumer behaviour, generation preferences, supply chain and operations management. Meltem Kayhan is also the executive director of the KUMPEM Koç University Migros Retail Research Forum, a university-industry collaboration.
Yavuz Çingitaş completed his undergradute studies as the top student of his class in Information Systems and Technologies and his received his gradute degree on Business Adminstration and Technology Management. He started his career in 2007 in Borusan Automative BMW Marketing. Some of the projects under his direct supervision were Borusan Automative Motorsport, press relations, driving activities and under and over the line communication. Between 2009-2011, he was transfered to Brisa as the Lassa Brand Management executive, where he was responsible from the brand’s strategy and campaigns, as well as the digital activities of Lassa and Bridstone brands. He won “The Communicator Awards” , “The Web Marketing Association” and “Altın Örümcek- Golden Spider ”awards with his digital projects. He has been the first employee in Sabancı Group who has implemented projects in corporate entrepreneurship. After completing 4 projects (www.lastik.com.tr, www.tripin.com.tr,icat.brisa.com.tr,bip.brisa.com.tr) and numerous trainings, he started his own companies in 2015. He is the founder of four start-ups, including GOOINN (ALLE Hamile, TripMov ve Girişimciye Dönüş).
Yavuz Çingitaş has been awarded Country Champion in Euorope Business Awards innovation category in 2014, second place in European Business Awards in innovation category and third place in İSO Innovation Strategic Planning İnovaleague Innovation Leaders Resource category in 2015. He also has been teaching innovation and entrepreneurship courses as a guest lecturer in İTU, Boğaziçi, Marmara and İstanbul University, as well as ITU Ginova.
Zeynep Saygılı Peksevin graduated from Koç University, Department of Economics in 2010 and started her career in the digital marketing department of KLM-Air France. In 2010, she started her master's degree in Business Information Systems at Boğaziçi University and graduated in 1.5 years. Later she developed her skills in the field of research and understanding of the customer and started working on research and insight at Good Job, a research company. She completed her doctorate in Marketing at Galatasaray University. In 2016, she started her career as a MT at Getir, a technology company. During this period, she worked in the fields of marketing, operations, purchasing, customer relations and new business development and had the opportunity to see the parts of the whole organization together. As of 2018, she has been working on the understanding of the customer in the marketing department of Getir. She focused on adapting her output to the changing digital world by conducting customer-specific research and innovative studies
After graduating from Istanbul University-Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business Administration in 2000, Irmak Bakioğlu started her career at Belgium origin Puratos, as an Import-Export Specialist in 2000. During this position, she was responsible for all kinds of import, export activities and stock rotation management and developed and implemented MRP system.
In 2004, she changed her career area and started working as a Financial and Administrative Affairs Manager at UK-based Global Business Reports (GBR). Then, as a Project Coordinator at Global Business, she worked with 25 international employees in the research and preparation of various sectors to be published in the leading international sectoral magazines. Later, she continued working as Sales-Marketing Manager of International Fairs-Congresses and Organizations at GBR which she brought in and developed this business area for her company. During her work experience in Global Business Reports, she started MBA program at Yeditepe University and received her MBA degree in 2010.In 2012 she worked as Major Accounts Manager at Hong Kong origin ‘Newton Technology’ which entered Turkey market first in order to expand to global markets. Irmak Köseoğlu has graduated from Saint Benoît French High School in 2003. She received her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 2007. She graduated with a double major in politics and international and global studies concentrating on global media and communications. Dr. Köseoğlu received her master’s degree in Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Sorbonne University) in Political and Social Communications in 2008. While doing her master’s in Sorbonne, she worked as an intern in one of the world’s most famous digital agencies, Wunderman Paris at Microsoft account as an account executive. Dr. Köseoğlu started working at Global Tanıtım Public Relations Firm (Global Hill and Knowlton) as an account executive in 2009.
She started her Ph.D. at Bahçeşehir University in 2010 on advertising and public relations. Her Ph.D. thesis was about an observation about the image of a conservative woman and her luxury consumption attitude at the postmodern consumption culture. She received her Ph.D. in 2018. After completing her Ph.D., she has started to lecture at Bahceşehir University and Medipol University on advertising and public relations.

Zeynep Mine Alptekin received her BA in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from Marmara University in 1993 and her MA in Organization and Development from Ohio University. She started to work as an instructor and consultant with Prof. Dr. İnsan Cüneloğlu. With over 20 years experience in different industries, including JTI Turkey, Kuwait Alshaya, Metro Market Turkey with international assignments, she took the role of human resources in Turkey as well as abroad. Zeynep Mine Alptekin, who continues her education in parallel with her business life, is in the process of writing a dissertation in the Public Relations and Advertising Department of Istanbul Commerce University for her Ph.D.She gave Human Resources Management and Organizational Development trainings at Yeditepe University for two terms. She has been a guest lecturer at Özyeğin University about Organizational Structures.

Burak Uluocak received his undergraduate degree from Yıldız Technical University Department of Mechanical Engineering in 1998. After completing his master's degree in Business Administration at Yeditepe University Social Sciences Institute in 2002, he completed his doctorate program "Strategic Management" at Yeditepe University in 2015 with honors degree. His dissertation study, "Project Success Perception and Critical Success Factors Affecting Project Performance: The Case of Turkish IT Sector, has become one of the most extensive thesis prepared in the field of information technology project management.
Addition to academic studies, Burak Uluocak has 20 years of experience in professional business life. He took part in important technology projects in Koçbank, Yapı Kredi and Finansbank (Ibtech) as business analyst, system analyst, project leader, project manager, program and portfolio manager; and managed different departments like technology architecture, IT budget, procurement, licensing, process software development. Currently, he is in charge of Project Management Office, Agility Center of Excellence, Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Information Systems Process and Performance Development units with the title of "Enterprise Project Delivery and Governance Vice President" in Türkiye Finans. In addition, he has international certificates in the field of project management, lean / agile product development and gamification subjects.
Burak Uluocak, who has significant achievements in the fields of "Project Management Office in Information Technologies", "Large Scale Agile Transformation", "Information Systems Strategies and Transformation Program Management", participates as a speaker to share his experiences in many related national and international conferences. He has the book "Project Success Factors in the Digital Age" published in 2016.
Önder Bakal received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sakarya University. During her undergraduate program, he continued her education at University College Leuven-Limburg 'da (Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg) for a year within Erasmus student exchange program. He continuing the Master Degree program in Neuro Marketing at Üsküdar University.
Önder has been working e-commerce strategy and business development consultant supporting for retail companies. He is during responsible for e-commerce and digital transformation functions of Yataş Group.

Öznur Akman graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration and then started to work in an international institution. She has worked in the manufacturing industry for sixteen years in the position of Accounting and Finance Manager in Istanbul and Adana regions. Akman has been involved in many innovations within the institution, including the creation of cost accounting methods, the integration of international accounting standards and internal auditing.
She has completed the Executive MBA at Fordham University and the Master of Business Administration at Kadir Has University in order to pursue academic innovations after many years of experience in the private sector. She is continuing his PhD studies in Business Administration at Beykent University.
Between 2015 and 2018, she was involved in the international scientific project titled "Coming Home: Reverse Migration of Entrepreneurs and Academies in India and Turkey in Light of the Chinese Experience" as the project manager at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The project received gratuitous grant support from the "Research Grant Council (RGC) of Hong Kong".
Akman has a CPA license since 1999 and continues to work in the fields of Accounting, Finance and Auditing at multinational corporations.

Dr. Nihat Tavşan, following about two decades of practitioner and executive career, and earning MBA degree, received his PhD through his thesis on "Customer Experience Management". He is the author of the book: “Customer Experience Management: How to Design, Integrate, Measure and Lead”, that has become rank #1 on amazon.com in “Customer Experience Management” topic, after the third week of its release. His book also crowned as the winner of “Best New Customer Experience Books” category by Bookauthority.
By blending his practitioner background with state-of-the-art academic theory, he contributed to formulation of –macro to micro– many corporate and business level strategic plans, as well as their executions.
In 2017, Dr. Tavşan composed the curriculum of "Customer Experience Management" as a Bologna-accredited graduate level course and became the pioneering academician lecturing "Customer Experience Management" as a standalone MBA course.
He designs, analyzes research studies; develops advanced quantitative and qualitative methods, models and actionable deep algorithms serving to the marketing field. His major expertise areas are; Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, Customer Experience Management, Organizational Transformation and Data Science.
Dr. Tavşan so far conducted substantial number of projects in Customer Experience, Customer Retention, Segmentation, Brand Loyalty, Customer Satisfaction, Product&Service Innovation and Organizational Transformation topics.

Banu Berksoy completed his elementary, secondary and high school education in TED College. Graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Humanities and Letters, English Language Literature Department. She continued her academic career with the MBA program in partnership with Başkent University and American University in Washington D.C. Then she added Gazi University Faculty of Education Pedagogical Formation Program to her education. Since her graduation, she had worked at client side for 15 years and at agency side for 5 years; which gave her gave her a holistic point of view of both sides to gain experience how to create & affiliate and execute 360 º marketing projects and develop partnership & relationships with 3rd parties
In her 20-year corporate career,in client side, she has served as Marketing Director for various multinational and domestic corporations, including Verizon Bell Atlantic Corporation, Washington D.C / New York / Ankara, Vodafone Group, Alarko Holding, Zorlu Holding Real Estate, Zorlu Center Shopping Center and Jones Lang LaSalle Investment CO. On the other hand, at the agency side, she had the experience working for a wide range of clients from various industries like; Defence industries and technology, telecommunication, entertaintment&leisure, media, motion picture, energy, automotive, banking, consumer products, food beverage&tobacco, manufacturing, digital etc. Such as McCann Erickson World Group and 141 at International Advertising Agenciees. Banu Berksoy is currently earning of her 3rd master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Istanbul Esenyurt University Institute of Social Sciences.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Zeynep Hale Oner has a PhD in organizational behavior and an MBA degree specialised in international business / human resources. She has been teaching on management, leadership and human resources topics in various well-known universities in the USA, England, Turkey and recently in France for 15 years. She has also industrial work experience in marketing departments at Bayer, Tofaş Fiat, Istanbul. She was a human resources specialist at North Yorkshire County Council, England and United Nations Secreteriat, USA. She speaks 4 languages.
